  1. swan song for group 25:

Leadership is an inborn quality that has influenced the development of mammals for as long as they have been on the planet. it's the one who represents the ideals of the group that leads the group. it's the one who will promote the achievement of the goal of the group that the others follow. there need not be any language associated with the message. to promote health, be healthy. to promote happiness, be happy (the real kind, people are hard wired to spot a fake) so what does this mean to us in our group? it means that we must keep working on our selves, to continually strive to be better people. "the only kind of juice you get from an orange, is orange juice, no matter how you squeeze it" so to produce excellence we must always strive towards excellence, saturate our selves with the ideas and ways to both achieve and to be excellent. the success we experience must only inspire us to seek further immersion in excellence until it becomes not what we do but who we are.

Inspired leadership presented by Simon Sinek was excellent. The way he explains the way a successful leader and business operates from inside out was very intriguing because it fits the chiropractic way of thinking of healing from above-down-inside-out. We believe that he is right about starting a business for the right reason and really portraying the message of "why" first and foremost. We do believe you can get that first chunk of people in for the "why" and they will be advocates for you as long as your product shows them results. Though, if you cannot produce a good product or service, then the people that believe in you, will soon quit coming, discontinue to buy your product, and quit being an advocate for you or your product as well. This video was very insightful and helped us grow to build our offices based on "why" while providing great services to our patients in the future.

We thought that the TED video was very good and caused us to look at leadership and purpose together in a new direction. This video made me think of what is success. Is success making money, having stuff, or even having a good or comfortable life? These are all good things to want but is that success? Is that the purpose for what we are striving for? If in life we only focus on what we want and how do we get it, do we ever know why? Sometimes, maybe but like Simon Sinek was saying when you start with the why it is no longer about you, but about the idea your striving for. Leading in very simple terms is going forward in front of others, but good leading is much more. A good leader knows why they are leading, how they are going to lead and what they are going to accomplish by leading. Someone like this is easy to follow because they are leading by a belief and not by their own selves. It is much easier to lose faith in a person or to find fault and still believe in them, not as much with a belief. So, what's the take home message for us, as doctors we need to work for what we believe in. I don't like using the word sell but if you can sell people on why you’re a chiropractor, it's easy for them to get the how and the what.

"How great leaders inspire action" by Simon Sinek was a great message for all Chiropractors, health professionals, and leaders everywhere. His message of "it's not what you do, it's why you do it" should hopefully ring true to all chiropractors. As a group we became chiropractors because we believe in chiropractic and have a passion for helping people through chiropractic care. We also have a passion for helping people understand the nature of what we do and why it's important. Not one of us decided we were going to go to chiropractic school because we wanted to find a way to make a lot of money someday. As practitioners if we are passionate in what we do and truly believe in the power of it, others will believe in it to. When others believe in it, they will become advocates, and not because you asked them to, but because they believe in getting chiropractic care. As practitioners we can't tell people what do do, they have to want to do something, and to want to do it, they have to believe. Chiropractic isn't what we do, it's what we believe, and that's why we do it.

The video 'How great leaders inspire' had a great point on how to think, act and communicate in an effective way. His golden circle sets a baseline for how to market an item or a service, but as he stated it matters how you go about using why, how and what and going from the inside to the outside, which reminded us much of how chiropractic works. Also the video made us think about how after graduation we are going to present myself to our communities. We all want to sell ourselves and the service we provide to gain patients. We want those patients to trust us and like he said, believe what we believe. He made a point about how we all can market a service or product and expect a behavior out of people, but usually that can end up in a failed situation because what sells is when people believe what you believe. This video was very interesting and he brought up many great points on how we can all become better leaders, especially in the chiropractic world.

The Inspired Leadership talk by Simon Sinek was very interesting. It made a lot of sense in how people decided to do something or not. People need to know why you are doing what you are doing before they are moved to action. It allows them to use their emotional brain instead of their educated brain. No one really cares what you do until they know why you do it. I feel these ideas will help anyone starting a practice because it will help them to better present themselves in a way that will allow people to react and take action.
These ideas are very similar to the philosophy of Chiropractic and how the body works from above- down, and inside-out. As chiropractors we must not try and sell ourselves as low back pain doctors or headache doctors. That is only telling the people the what of chiropractic. People need to know the why of chiropractic. Let them know how chiropractic allows the body to heal its self by improving structure, function, and quality of life.

Wow what a cool concept and it does make sense. I really thought it was cool how when he was explaining the law of diffusion of innovation and that ~10% just got it. We only see ~10% of population. Maybe just a coincidence maybe not. I really do think that the majority of people have no idea what we believe and why we do what we do.
We should learn from this not only for marketing but when we need some true inspiration.

This video made me think deeper about what a good leader really is and what it's not. A leader is not the loudest person or a person who seems to know it all. Nor is it the person who is the most persuasive. A good leader is honest, available, and understanding. In order to best market ourselves and reach more people we need to those good leader qualities. We should be informative and confident but not pushy and arrogant. Doing this will make us leaders in the eyes of the community because they will feel that they can trust us and they will experience the great things we can do with chiropractic

John-Definitely some good points in this one. Successful innovators in any profession believe very strongly in the reason behind their efforts. BJ Palmer is a great example. I couldn't help but think about the personality of BJ and how much he believed in the idea that life is better without interference. The idea that created our futures. How many lives are better because of early chiropractic pioneers' strong belief in this idea that chiropractic adjustments improve health? "People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it"

Joe- I agree with John as well as many of the other comments. It seems to me that most of the big names throughout history were driven in their cause and seriously motivated. I think to survive the hard times, it helps when you're not driven by the dollar. If you wake each day to help people...people notice. And, "People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it." It's True.

  10. There are some very interesting posts on this subject. The Inspired Leadership talk by Simon Sinek definitely makes you think about leadership and what it takes to be a successful leader in a different way. It was very interesting how he used Apple and TiVo as examples and explained how important it is to not present or sell "what" you are doing but rather why you are doing what you are doing. There are some very interesting blogs, for instance it is interesting how James looked into the 10% with the law of diffusion, and many of the other blogs go into some great conversation about what it takes to be a successful leader and how to run a successful business.

  11. How Mr Benjamin Lee service granted me a loan!!!

Hello everyone, I'm Lea Paige Matteo from Zurich Switzerland and want to use this medium to express gratitude to Mr Benjamin service for fulfilling his promise by granting me a loan, I was stuck in a financial situation and needed to refinance and pay my bills as well as start up a Business. I tried seeking for loans from various loan firms both private and corporate organizations but never succeeded and most banks declined my credit request. But as God would have it, I was introduced by a friend named Lisa Rice to this funding service and undergone the due process of obtaining a loan from the company, to my greatest surprise within 5 working days just like my friend Lisa, I was also granted a loan of $216,000.00 So my advice to everyone who desires a loan, "if you must contact any firm with reference to securing a loan online with low interest rate of 1.9% rate and better repayment plans/schedule, please contact this funding service. Besides, he doesn't know that I am doing this but due to the joy in me, I'm so happy and wish to let people know more about this great company who truly gives out loans, it is my prayer that GOD should bless them more as they put smiles on peoples faces. You can contact them via email on { 247officedept@gmail.com} or Text through Whatsapp +1-989 394 3740.
